Heatherlee
CAMTC #60773, BCTMB #403234
Heatherlee knew she wanted to be a massage therapist after receiving her first massage session at the age of 8, following an injury. She studied under her mentor, Ruth Steadman, from that point until she was old enough to attend massage school. Heatherlee graduated from Ashmead College of Massage Therapy in 2003 and became a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist in 2004.
Since then, she has worked in clinical settings focusing on pain relief and injury rehabilitation. She has an extensive knowledge of the human musculoskeletal system (your bones, muscles, ligaments, tendons, connective tissues, nerves and how they work together). If you want to know more about how your body works, just ask her.
Most recently she was an employee at Google providing massage therapy sessions and wellness classes to the Google workforce (2016-2023).
Heatherlee has had the privilege of being an instructor at two nationally accredited Massage Therapy institutes. She was the Human Sciences instructor at Heartwood Institute from 2007-2009 and an Instructor Mentor at the National Holistic Institute, at the Sacramento (2010-2012) and San Jose campuses (2014-2015). She is currently enrolled in Whitney Lowe’s orthopedic massage courses through the Academy of Clinical Massage. She is grateful to be learning more of the nurturing adjunct modalities at Aloha Healing Touch Massage.
While she excels in myofascial work, pain relief and injury rehabilitation, she also provides reiki, shiatsu, intuitive massage, and is learning medical qi gong from a local master. She has been a student of yoga, martial arts and meditation for over 15 years. She is equally comfortable in the energetic, emotional, mental and physical realms of bodywork. Basically, Heatherlee wants to help her clients to find more freedom and joy in their bodies. If massage can’t help you, she will try to direct you to another modality that can.
